Haven't seen much traffic on this blog lately. Hope we're all still checking it. Saw an intriguing article critiquing Dobson's recent attack of Obama regarding a speech in which he spoke of faith, Christianity, etc. Here's the link. Curious as to your thoughts:

WOW! First of all I need a disclaimer...I do NOT like either Presidential candidate. Ok, now I missed Obama's speech but after reading it I have to say I do understand his point of view. He is trying to address the needs of ALL Americans...not just us Christians. How unfortunate that he must tip toe around his faith to addresse the needs of the nation but I understand that to some degree. I work in a faith based organization but a good majority of our employees especially those of power do not have a faith or are not Christian. I find in the position I am in that I often have to carefully craft my language as not to offend anyone. Can you imagine what that must be like when you are running for President? I have been a fan of Dobson's but I do feel his attack a bit over zealous. I don't know much about Obama's faith, whether he truly is saved or not but after reading his speech it appears he is saved but that is between him and the Lord. We must remember that we are all at different stages in our walk. Some seem to grow in knowlege and faith very quickly while others seem more comfortable with baby steps. I am personally disappointed in Dobson with his attack on Obama. I've brought this up before but I think as Christians instead of "attacking" someone's faith it might be a better witness for us to listen and then offer up our point of view perhaps in more of a loving manner. Have we as Christians ever had a different perspective on a verse?....I think so. Have we as Christians had a different perspective in our style of worship?...I think so....etc. Am I making sense? I think sometimes we are so quick to judge and offer a retort which comes off as an attack rather than share our beliefs with love. Love is so much more powerful than an attack. I am not saying Obama is correct with everything he had said but I think people like Dobson who really is in a position of authority (meaning people listen to him) should be more discerning in what they communicate. I have some strong christian friends that are democrats and that doesn't make them any less a Christian than a Republican. So why are people like Dobson so quick to back the Republican party just because they are Republican and attack anything anyone says from the Democratic party? No wonder non believers don't want anything to do with us! Now I do know Dobson wasn't a fan of McCain but I don't know if that has now changed. BTW...I am not saying that I agree or disagree with the democrats. (See how PC that was?) I just think as I stated in the past we can approach our differences in more constructive ways.
You stink! You're a boo-boo head! I'm smart and you're dumb. So agree with me because I'm right.
...(How's that? Have I converted you to my way of thinking?)
How impressive that that you have the language down! :-)
